Endometriosis is a condition occurs to women during their reproductive age. Endometriosis and infertility are most likely associated to each other due to the effect or contribution of the disease to infertility.

In this condition, the endometrial tissue that surrounds the lining of the uterus grows and reaches the outside part of it. Due to this progressive condition it may also infect the other parts of reproductive organs that are mainly located in the abdominal such as fallopian tubes and ovaries.

Studies show that 40%-50% of women that are infertile do have endometriosis. Infertility is one of the effects of endometriosis.

It is a progressive condition which could cause abnormal and painful menstruation as well as painful sexual intercourse. Endometriosis and infertility is not a hopeless case. Do not fear that you could not have or bear any child anymore. Treatment and medication are always available.

If a person is diagnosed with endometriosis and infertility, a laparoscopy test is usually advice by the doctors to patients having this condition. Causes of this condition is still unknown up to this time.

But some theories are believed that this condition could be a genetic abnormality during fetal development. Another is that the endometrial tissue that are suppose to shred during menstruation backs up through the fallopian tube and it implants in the uterine wall which causes endometriosis.

Endometriosis and infertility have the cause and effect to each other and these are best describes by the following:

Women with endometriosis causes fertilization impossible due to the peritoneal fluid which contains higher number of scavenger cells that destroys sperm cells that are suppose to fertilize the egg. Normal cycle of egg releasing in woman is affected by the endometriosis due to the blockage of tissue in a woman’s fallopian tube.

The condition affects the normal menstrual cycle of a woman due to the tissues that accumulates in the abdominal area that hinders the normal functions of each reproductive organs.

Pain is experienced by women having endometriosis and it hinders the woman to have more sexual intercourse which lowers the possibility to be pregnant.

This condition is experienced by many couples in the whole world. And it sometimes causes stress to both individuals which is also a contributory factor to infertility. Studies showed that stress also play a major role in infertility of a couple. This is because some infertility treatment are nerve racking that some couple couldn’t manage to tolerate.

If genetic factors really contribute to the development of the disease, then it will be a big problem, in relation with the treatment.
